Love Wearing Weaves...
If you love wearing weaves, here are a few tips:
Choose quality hair. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you like body and movement you don't want to buy a $20 package of hair. In that case, you don't even want $80 hair.
Be realistic. If you're 4' tall, you don't want to get 22" hair sewn in. That doesn't look right and it's not realistic!
Now, let's take a look at color. I can tell you right away that everyone can't wear blonde and some of the darker colors make a person look 'harsh' or older. Some of the multi colored hair on the market is also unrealistic. Think more along the lines of achieving a healthy and natural head of hair, you'll be amazed at the results.
Texture is next on the list. Most African American women do not have silky straight hair, not even with a relaxer! I'm always amazed at the women who come into the salon with this texture and expect me to work a miracle. Try a relaxed texture, but stay away from silky!
On the other hand, if you wear your weave short, I'm talking 3" or shorter, I wouldn't recommend using a more costly hair. The local beauty supply hair will do just fine. If you wear your hair in a short cut, it will be almost impossible to line it up correctly the next time you use it.
Please take these tips into consideration when purchasing hair for a weave.
