Why Dress Code
I've come across many students who question why dress code?

The answer is simple. For one it is to help you become a polished professional and for two it is to get you into the habit of dressing professional and following a dress code.
Not all but many salons and spa's do have a dress code that they demand their employees to follow. Without this discipline one may find following a salon or spa dress code very difficult. Most salons or spa's won't allow a stylist or esthetician arrive to work dresses any kind of way. This is disastrous to their business and to the stylist or estheticians paycheck.
Within the first 5 minutes a client has already 'sized you up' and most likely has determined whether or not if they will make an appointment with you again. Take this opportunity to win the client over by looking your best. Nice neat clean and pressed clothes. A nice hairstyle. Makeup, fresh breath and clean hands.
If you smoke, please wash your hands, use breath mints and a pleasant scented body spray. Get lots of sleep so you can look refreshed and ready to go!
