Your Instructor
I can't say it enough, choosing the world of beauty as a career is an awesome choice. To this day you can still write your own paycheck. The world is yours..
On the other hand your instructor at the school you attend or attended may not put your interest first. Meaning he/she may only show up just for the pay and will only do enough to get by. Who cares about your needs, your instructor need to be out of the building as soon as class is dismissed for the day.
Your instructor also may not be cut out for this field altogether. He or she may just be minimally qualified to teach beauty, and poor you, you don't know the difference.
I can't name how many instructors I've worked with that just didn't give a damn about the school they work at or the students they stand in front of on a daily basis. It's sad, but true.
Your instructor very well may have other things on his or her mind the entire time. Things such as grocery shopping, their kids recitals, what they're doing this weekend or even after class. Anything BUT you or what your interests are.
Your instructor very well may be 'booted' out of a salon or spa or barber shop, now here he or she stands, in front of a room full of new learners. The fear is will he or she bring in the same antics that got them booted? Or have they learned from their mistakes. I can answer that. No!
Just to be able to be on a payroll again is good enough.

Watch out, because 7 times out of 10, your instructor does not care about you, or the reason you're in his of her classroom.
If you feel this is the case in your or someone you know situation, I urge you to contact the school's director to seek improvement.
