Double Process Blonde

Double Process Blonde is a very lucrative color service, but only if done properly and the clients hair remains healthy.
The most common mistake is not allowing the hair to lighten to the appropriate level. I've seen stylists lighten the hair only 'so far' and then think they can use a toner to get the hair up to the exact color afterwards.
IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN unless you have the correct exposed or underlying pigment present to create a nice blonde.
First, analyze the clients hair to see if it's suitable for the service. Next determine what products to use. The chosen products should be able to do the job AND keep the hair healthy at the same time. Pay close attention to which developer you will use.
If this is a virgin application you will need to stay away from the roots or base of the hair and start to apply lightener to the midstrands and down to the healthy ends only.
Once that is done to all the hair, go back and cover the roots or base of the hair with lightener. Rinse with lukewarm water once the hair has reached the desired level. Tone if needed.
When the client comes back for a retouch, make sure to apply lightener to the new growth only.
