To Regulate Or Not To Regulate
Wow, I can't believe that some states are deregulating Cosmetology. WTH!
I feel proud and privileged to carry a license issued by state to practice my profession. If it's deregulated, I'm reduced to being a kitchen beautician.
Hopefully our state needs the money bad enough to keep this profession professional.
Every time I hear of a person doing hair unlicensed puts the image in my head of them reaching into my purse and taking money out of it. It's also ridiculous the salons that are being disciplined for employing unlicensed stylists and barbers. What are they thinking?
In some states, that act would also penalize any other licensed stylist working in the same salon with an unlicensed person. Why would you do that? If you had to sacrifice so many hours out of your life away from your families, then why would you put up with working with an unlicensed person?
Every time you see a kitchen hairstyle, think of the money you lost. Do what's right and turn these people in. Protect your profession and rally against those who want to deregulate it.
It's a shame that this is even a thought! Those who have been thru beauty school know the importance of getting an education especially for the sanitation end of the business. Those who practice without the education do not take this matter seriously at all.
